What can festivals teach us about sustainability? - Claire O'Neill

How can festivals create more sustainble communities?

The link between festivals and sustainability might not be immediately obvious. But, consider this. A festival is a reproduction of a town. It has energy, food, community and waste needs. Many festivals are rebuilt year after year. This means that festivals can trial sustainability features learning and improving year on year. It's the equivalent of rapid prototyping for settlements.
